Visit of the Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP

The member of Parliament for Maidenhead and Shadow Leader of the House of Commons, Rt. Hon. Theresa May MP, paid a visit to our headquarters on Friday, 30 November 2007 in response to Fr Tony's invitation. More than just a courtesy call, it was an opportunity to welcome the Mill Hill Missionaries into the area as well as to establish links.

In spite of the heavy rain, Mrs May arrived promptly after 7.30 p.m. on her own and was ushered into the General Council Common Room for a powerpoint presentation on the Mill Hill Missionary Society.

Together with six members of the community were the Parish Priests of the two Catholic parishes of Maidenhead, Mgr Tom McGrath and Fr Kevin Hoiles.

During the presentation by Fr Tony, there were oppportunities for informal exchanges and clarifications on the Society. Mrs May was presented with a bouquet of flowers by Ruth and the biography of Cardinal Vaughan was given by Fr Tony.

She was then shown the chapel enroute to the dining room where a sumptuous buffet had been laid out by a local caterer. After a delightful conversation with the rest of the community, she took leave.

The community was grateful that Mrs May was able to make time to visit and to establish acquaintances with the Mill Mill Missionaries who have recently moved into her constituency.
