On 19th June 2009, the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart, the residents at Herbert House, Freshfield and Mill Hill members from around the country gathered to celebrate the Jubilees of Fr John McClorey (60 years), Fr Bill Tolan (50 years), Fr John Rooney (50 years), Fr Jim Cronin (50 years), and Fr Michael McKenna (40 years).

The day started with the Celebration of the Eucharist at 10.30 am. It was presided over by the General Superior, Fr Anthony Chantry. In his homily, he outlined the contributions and service given by the jubilarians in the various mission countries they worked in. Also present was the Vicar General, Fr Brendan Mulhall. He led the members in the renewal of the Perpetual Oath after Holy Communion.

After a couple of drinks, it was time to sit down for the festive dinner that had been prepared by Sr Sarah and the staff at Herbert Staff. It was also the birthday of Fr Edmund Slowey and to commemorate this, Fr Edmund was asked to blow his brithday cake candles. The anniversary cake for the jubilarians was cut by Fr Joe as he was the oldest jubilarian among them.
