Acting on the Lord’s command, Mill Hill Missionaries are ready to leave country and culture in order that the Gospel of Christ may bring together people of different races and may become incarnate in every culture and nation.
The history of the Mill Hill Missionaries is closely linked to the story of its founder, Cardinal Herbert Vaughan and his vision for a college to train missionaries to go overseas to proclaim the Gospel. From the motherhouse at St. Joseph’s College, Mill Hill, and later on, from various other places, missionaries have continued to live out this vocational calling.
The story of Cardinal Herbert Vaughan is one that speaks of great courage and determination in the face of undue hardship and challenges at that time. His dreams and hopes were to be fulfilled and he was one of the greatest architects of what is to be the face of missionary work in the British Isles.
The Code of Conduct serves as a guide for Mill Hill Missionaries on the appropriate conduct and provide a basis on which individual members can make decisions around their behaviour.
St. Joseph’s Missionary Society is governed by the various Superiors and Representatives, assisted by their Councils and operating at their respective levels. At the highest level is the General Council which is assisted by the Regionals and Society Representatives in their own particular area.
Contact details of the General Council members, the Regionals and the Society Representatives as well as the Central and Finance Office are found here.
