Catholics to Mark Seventh Anniversary of Fr Kaiser's Death NAIROBI, August 17, 2007(CISA)

The seventh anniversary of the death of American Mill Hill missionary Father John Anthony Kaiser will be held on Saturday, August 25. The function at St Joseph' pro-Cathedral, Ngong', is organized by the national Catholic Justice and Peace Commission (CJPC). It will start with a procession from Mary Mother of God Embul-bul Catholic Parish at 8.30 am. The mass will be celebrated by Bishop Peter Kairo of Nakuru Diocese, who is CJPC chairman. Human rights organizations will conduct a free legal clinic after the mass. Organizers of the event said in a statement that the anniversary celebrations will focus on the public inquest which ruled that Fr. Kaiser did not commit suicide as claimed by Kenyan and American investigators but was actually murdered. The court recommended fresh investigations to determine the killers of the priest. Ahead of the anniversary mass in Ngong', there will be a public forum on Fr Kaiser and human rights issues in Kenya at The Stanley Hotel, Nairobi, on Friday, August 24, from 2pm.
