Sending Off

On 20 September 2006, Hennie Heldens became the last person to be sent out from St. Joseph’s College as an Associate of St. Joseph’s Missionary Society.  Amidst the last remaining residents of the College, Hennie pledged her Oath and signed her contract with the Society for three years during the Celebration of the Eucharist that Wednesday evening.  She would be starting her mission work in India in December 2006.

Hennie had worked in the administrative field since her younger days, having worked in a bank for five years and later on as a purchasing assistant in a renowned company in the Netherlands.  She came to the “Come and See” weekends in the College in 2005 and participated in a three-month exposure programme in Pandipieri, Kisumu in the early part of 2006.

We wish Hennie all the best in her new mission to India.
