Our young missionaries and associates in the East African Region as well as theology students on Mission Experience – twenty in all - met in Jinja from 14th to 18th May 2007. As usual this annual gathering was a pleasant mix of sharing of personal experiences, prayer, reflection, discussion and relaxation.
On the first day, Fr Jos van Boxel M.Afr, Rector of the PCJ lead the group in a day of recollection on the theme of ‘Power and Mission’. This set the tone for what developed into a very pleasant gathering of honest sharing and warm camaraderie. A free day with a picnic on the banks of the Nile, interspersed with rain, presented a pleasant interlude.
The Regional, Fr Fons Eppink, facilitated a day of reflection and discussion on ‘Appointment and Mobility’ as well as ‘Accountability’. The resolutions emanating from this exchange were forwarded for consideration to the Regional and General Councils.
